Our client, Rio Tinto Resource Definition Team held a family day earlier this month. Rio Tinto employees’ families travelled by charter to West Angeles on Saturday 2nd September to learn and experience what site life is like for their family member.

It was a great opportunity for McKay Drilling to showcase what we do to the Rio Tinto families.

The ability to connect with family and friends is important for the psychological health of FIFO workers, family days are a really great way to bring families closer together in providing that better understanding, it can vastly improve the wellbeing of the FIFO worker and their families, especially children.

FIFO careers are an incredibly rewarding opportunity although there are many sacrifices that are made. Well done to Rio Tinto in recognising these challenges to their employees and providing this unique opportunity to those families.Â
